Not too Big for My Britches

Current Weight: 325 lbs
Total Loss: 24 lbs
Avg. Loss/Week: 4.8 lbs
- Body Weight %age: 7%

The first pair of too-big pants are getting donated! I tried to wear them one more time and they kept "pantsing" me right and left at work so when I went home and changed over lunch. I have about a dozen pairs of denim in smaller sizes waiting for me ranging from sizes 18–24. This weekend, I officially got the pile out of storage so I can pull from them as time/pounds allow. I'm hoping I'll be able to get into a couple pairs of Bermuda shorts and crops for the summer.

Jordan's front pudge (or "panza" as I like to call it in Spanish) is diminishing. His buttons no longer pull on his dress shirts and they're roomy in the back and shoulders. He's also utilizing belt holes he hasn't used before—I'm so proud of him! 

He surprised me with a date to Whole Foods on Monday for a change of scenery to grab groceries and a quick, healthy dinner. Here's what we each ate and how cute is he, seriously?

We're learning that it's especially easy to get in a food rut because we're having to relearn food preparation and what foods to eat so once we get something down and get it right it's hard not to just keep repeating the meal. It took us a long time to become good cooks with the techniques we grew up with an learned from Food Network but it's a different education altogether to learn how to cook light (spray your oil, don't drizzle it, dust vegetables with herbs not (half a tub) of parmesan, hold all grains/carbs/noodles). Monotony looms large if we're not careful and creative.

Next week going to do a post on a list of reasons I'd really like to get to a healthier weight (some of them might surprise you).
