KC Baby!

Took a family trip to KC this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised by the ease with which we were able to stay on plan. Bars for breakfast (PWLC product), lots of water, and decent restaurant choices like passing on dessert, not eating (much) of the pre-dinner bread, skipping alcohol...these things went a lot way I think in keeping me mostly on track.

I also realized how much less time I was spending focused on where my next meal was going to come from and more time enjoying the moment. The Royals game was the hardest; Jordan found a healthy food stand where he bought me Sabra hummus and pretzel chips which tasted really good to me and then he spoiled me with TWO servings of Dippin' Dots The Ice Cream of the Future which happen to be one of my absolute favorite foods.

My favorite evening of the trip was putting on a dress that had previously been way too tight to wear (I had a lot of trouble getting out of it when I tried it on last fall) and donning it for a fancy dinner with Jordan and the (very supportive) Mom and Dad Higgins. I just felt really pretty being able to fit back into my favorite LBD (little black dress).
