What Fills our Fridge

Both Jordan and I are DOWN 45 POUNDS, woohoo! Watch out, 50...we're a-comin' for ya. This also means that I've now lost more than I ever have before so it's a record-breaking kind of day.

At the beginning of this blog, I posted about paring down our pantry and over the last few months, we've learned how to stock to satisfy by keeping a collection of PWLC products on hand and a slew of healthy foods.

If I had to compare the plan to another way of eating, I could compare it to paleo. We eat a lot of meat, veggies, and limited fruit. That means NO added sugar, NO carbs, and little (me) to no dairy (Jordan).

Besides lean meats (primarily pork, chicken and turkey) and a slew of veggies, we keep the following staples in our kitchen at all times:
  • Berries
  • Feta—it's not on the plan but it adds a lot of flavor in few calories
  • Balsamic Glaze Trader Joes
  • Coconut Oil and Olive Oil Sprays—spritzing means we use a LOT less oil when we cook
  • POPCORN—we can't live without this filling, fiber-rich snack and as a treat on Farmer's Market Saturdays, we stop by local popper Maize for white cheddar sriracha, cinnamon roll, cookies and cream, nacho cheese or rice crispy treat popcorn OM NOM NOM
  • Babybel Light & Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheeses
  • Fage 0% Greek Yogurt
  • Wholly Guacamole Single Servings—not on the plan either but makes an unwich so tasty!
  • Beef Jerky—local Smoking Gun brand is best but if we can't get it, Trader Joes has good ones
  • Dark Chocolate Nibs & Wedges from Trader Joes—obvs not on the plan but I want to lose weight, not my sanity!
  • PB2—I add it to my PWLC shakes (not on the plan)
  • David's Tea—we'll talk about this in another post
  • Cary's Sugar Free Maple Syrup—I love mixing it with berries and yogurt
  • Truvia
  • La Croix sparkling water for me—water only counts toward our daily totals if it's flavorless, colorless, non-caffeinated, unsweetened so basically sparkling water and fruit-infused water are our options to make water more palatable
